The saroz is a medium-size local fiddle that originated in northwest Baluchistan, but soon spread to parts of Sindh and KPK, where it is known as sorendo and sarinda respectively. Though there are just a handful of saroz players left in Pakistan, the makers still prepare the instrument  with great care using intricate carvings and adornments.
